Silymarin has been used since the 1700’s to treat liver and gall bladder disorders. It protects the liver from toxins, improves liver function, and reduces elevated liver enzymes. It boosts the powerful antioxidant enzymes Glutathione and SOD. A damaged liver that still has 25% of functioning liver tissue remaining can regenerate, and Silymarin promotes this process. It also promotes the production of bile salts which aids the gall bladder. Silymarin also has antiviral (ie. Hepatitis), antibacterial (ie. MRSA and E Coli), and antiparasitic (ie. Liver Flukes) properties.
